The
Water Division manages and operates the City of Fresno’s water system.
The City delivers drinking water to about 122,000 urban residential,
commercial, and industrial customers in over 110 square
miles of the City of Fresno and some County Islands within the City’s
Sphere of Influence. Fresno's primary source of water is an aquifer that
was filled over hundreds of thousands of years with geologic material
washed down from the Sierra-Nevada. Using nearly 250 wells the Water
Division pumps about 146 million gallons of water per day (mgd) into over
1700 miles of water mains.
While groundwater has been the sole source of water for Fresno, the
treated surface water supplements our system with water delivered direct
from the Sierra to the Surface Water Treatment Facility. The SWTF supplies
about 20+ million gallons of water per day. During the peak demand season
the facility supplies approximately 15% of Fresno's potable water. During
the low demand periods the facility supplies over 30% of the community's
supply.

The Sacramento Municipal Utility
District was founded with the idea that providing electric power to
Sacramento was a job best done by a public utility overseen by an elected
board of directors.
For 60 years, we've done just that,
providing Sacramento County (and a small part of Placer County) with a
reliable source of electricity at competitive rates that are consistently
lower than investor-owned utilities in the state.
As the sixth largest publicly owned utility in
the country in terms of customers served, our innovative energy programs
are known throughout the state, nation and world. SMUD's purpose is to
provide solutions for meeting our customers' electrical energy needs. Our
vision is to be a leader in customer satisfaction and a positive force in
promoting community benefits.

Center Line Resource is a Wyoming
corporation dedicated to honest, unbiased utility locator training. We
purposely do not sell or promote utility locating equipment so that we may
remain objective. We offer knowledge only.
Our training has been tailored to
the best of our ability to meet the requirements recommended by the
P.H.M.S.A. (D.O.T.) for utility locators. The curriculum has been
developed to address the primary points laid out in section four (4) of
the Common Ground Alliance Best Practices. It is also our aim to meet or
exceed the requirement of the N.U.L.C.A. training model.
In addition, our training was
accepted by the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality as a
sanctioned course. This allows Wyoming students to accumulate credit hours
of continuing education when applicable.
The training consists of
classroom as well as hands-on field training. The classroom segment is
focused on theory and science allowing the students deeper understanding
of how the instruments function. This insight translates into cleaner,
more accurate decisions in the field.
The hands-on portion is focused
on function. This time is spent incorporating the concepts, principles,
and field shape tests introduced in the classroom. We train your employees
using their own instruments in the field.
